Paying for a full structural survey is pointless as the surveyors never actually bother doing one. They just fill the report with stuff like "there's a roof. you might want to check that it doesn't leak. I didn't go up there because I didn't have a ladder"

Yes, "I advise that you get a professional opinion on that" the caveat on every part of the house the "surveyor" either doesn't know about or doesn't look at.

I keep telling people that the survey isn't a report on the condition or soundness of the property.
