Annoying isn't it! I tend to put my hand over it when standing at lights etc. But my hand isn't really big enough. Definitely always keep a carrier bag underneath but I'm sure you know that.
Had a quick search, loads of products for equestrian saddles, might be worth looking into. Don't know how those saddles compare to bike ones though, and maybe riders don't care about getting waxy bottoms.
