  • No speculating until everything is signed but very hopeful. Just what we need.

Thank you Pisti for the theological analysis.

He will be the first manager receiving his P45

  • He will be the first manager receiving his P45

Put your money where your mouth is...

  • I shall do on betfair once they open the market. I can see failure written all over this one I'm afraid

  • I'll bet you a tenner that he'll win more trophies than KK at Liverpool during his current spell.

  • I'll bet you a tenner that he'll win more trophies than KK at Liverpool during his current spell.

    I'll take that bet

Kinky Kenny will win the FA Cup I reckon, that or the Carling Cup or whatever the fuck it's called nowadays

Premier League sacking list, in chronological order:

    Paul Lambert
    McLeish
    Villas Boas
Warnock(if he even starts the season @ QPR)

  • Villas Boas now confirmed as Chelsea manager.

A sensible appointment by Abrahamovich, I wonder how long it'll be before he fucks it up by interfering?

  • A good twenty minutes. At a push.

  • I'll bet you a tenner that he'll win more trophies than KK at Liverpool during his current spell.

    Yep your on.
He'll be gone by Christmas so I'll try to make it to Christmas drinks somewhere

I'm not sure how appointing a 33 year old with not that much managerial experience can be sensible?

He's laying his cards on the table and saying its Champions League or your out. But you and I know, as well as UEFA, that will never happen

  • Boas: Like Cirus in the Warriors.

    He's the one.

  • I'm not sure how appointing a 33 year old with not that much managerial experience can be sensible?

As a general rule, if you want success at a football club, i.e. trophies, then you need to appoint young managers on their way up rather than established managers who won things when they were young.

  • He's taking Falcao and Moutinho too, combined price = £50m!

    ????????????????????????

  • As a general rule, if you want success at a football club, i.e. trophies, then you need to appoint young managers on their way up rather than established managers who won things when they were young.

Yes I agree. It worked with United, Liverpool under Dalglish and for a while with Arsenal. It could have worked at Everton, but it's hard to tell with all the injuries they have

But, that's my point, will he be given the time at Chelsea?

  • Would that then make King Kenny a really bad appointment, or is he the exception that proves the rule mike?

    second coming obviously.

  • It could have worked at Everton, but it's hard to tell with all the injuries they have

...and severe lack of funds and ambition from our shitbag of a chairman

  • But, that's my point, will he be given the time at Chelsea?

We know teh answer to that already

Like I said earlier, if he doesn't win the CL next season he'll be getting his P45 early. Just don't sell your house in Porto just yet mate

  • think abramovich will be satisfied with winning the league, and challenging for the Champions League. Even if they fail to do that, think the new guy will be given a chance to do better the following year.

  • I don't see him changing the habits of a lifetime.

Champions League is the only thing he wants, and that is the yard stick on what all men will be measured.

    Ranieri
    Mourinho
    Grant
    Scolari
    Ancelotti

The've all been squeezed for not succeeding, and in Abramovich's mind being failures.

  • Would that then make King Kenny a really bad appointment, or is he the exception that proves the rule mike?

I think you need to go back on ignore as you can't get over your obsessions.
How about some cognitive behavioural therapy?

  • I'll take that bet

Bets are on, let's get one thing straight we're talking first team only, no reserve or youth team cups.

With the outlay the Liverpool have made I can't see Werner being to patient with him.
Roman does whatever he likes anyway so it's no point speculating what his next move will be. I can't see him burning 15M on a transfer and 5M a year in wages on a manager, only to sack him 12 months later and we'll definitely do better than Liverpool over two years.

    #FACT!

The've all been squeezed for not succeeding, and in Abramovich's mind being failures.

Ranieri - He was there post Abramovich and wasn't welcome, he had a 12 month audition and failed.

Mourinho - His sacking was all down to himself, there was never a plan b, my views on using Huth and Terry as centre forwards when you're 1-0 down are well known. He should have known that nobody is bigger than the club.

Grant - Was never a long term appointment, he was only there for the interim.

Scolari - Worst appointment in the Abramovich era by far, completely out of his depth at club level. Should never have gotten the job in the first place.

Ancelotti - Nice bloke, won the double in his first season breaking all scoring records and things went tits up when his father passed away. Sorry to see the players fail him they way they did, you can just blame it all on Wilkins departing the club.

  • So why have Spurs gone through 9 managers in 10 years or so?

  • So why have Spurs gone through 9 managers in 10 years or so?

Because they get stuck in a cycle which goes something like

October - Appoint new messiah to take over from old messiah who has them near the relegation zone.
May - Award new messiah a long term contract because he got them to 6th place and the Carling Cup final
July - With a couple of new players we can make a push for trophies and top 4 tyhis tear says new Messiah
October - Spurs 4th bottom, old new messiah sacked and new new messiah appointed.

    Repeat.

  • Excellent, I just choked on my lunch

  • ^ Errr, City and managers!?
