For Sale: Mercian-built Sid Mottram 531 Bike

the bike was advertised here before and didn't sell. I think the asking price was too steep, but it kind of reflected our reluctance to sell, my boyfriend liked it so much,but it just never fitted him right, he desperately tried to fit a short stem, but to no avail, it's too big, now that we are moving back home, we really need to shift it,
It's a classic British lightweight 531c Sid Mottram Mercian-built racer, size is 59 c-t, 58 c-c top tube, so for someone around 6'0.

It is in a fantastic condition, amazing golden-orange paintjob is a real headturner (one small scratch on headtube, two on seatstay-> see pictures), full Gipiemme Crono Sprint groupset, Brooks saddle, just fitted new Panaracer Pasella tyres, and new bartape, everything else original condition. The bike had very little use, it is still fitted with the original brakepads, so they would need replacement at one point, but do the job just fine, headset and pedals are Shimano 600, pedals fitted with new leather toestraps. Stem and seatpost are SR, bars ITM.

It comes with the original gipiemme/mavic argent 10 tuular wheels, but for 360 I include the campagnolo/mavic clinchers too.

I think if it was mercian not mottram, and campagnolo not gipiemme, it would be gone in a sec....
