You could always get a black one stripped of its anodising and polished.
Just use spray on oven cleaner. you'll have to give it a few goes as Thomson anodising will be tough as buggery or look up anodisers in the yellow pages and get them to do it
try this guy stevebarry1978@googlemail.com

Hadn't thought of stripping a black one, that's a pretty good idea. You reckon standard oven cleaner will do it? Might give it a blast on an old post before i fork out for the Thompson cos they aint cheap.

I'm pretty sure I have an 'aero' one in 25.0mm but it might be 25.4mm. Basically a copy of the shim/campag ones.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll check.

I normally use Mr Muscle oven cleaner and Thomson stuff is hard anodised so it will take a few goes.
Just spray it all over and leave it for a while. Better to do several goes at it rather than one very long one. Wash it off each time and don't forget to use a container that is:
- big enough to get it in lying down so you can cover it all over
- doesn't melt when in contact with oven cleaner
- not your lunchbox
Best of luck and remember to wear gloves
- big enough to get it in lying down so you can cover it all over

Cautic soda is bloody brutal stuff. You'd have to be very careful or you'd end up with a 24.8 or maybe a 24.6.
Does anyone know where i can get a decent aluminium 25.0mm seat post? I had a look at the Thomson Elite but it only comes in black, and i'm after silver...
