• Thanks for all the interest, I will now try to answer some of your comments as best as I can.

Price: My thinking behind the £650 was the following. A frame of this quality all built up in its original road setup with good components goes for around £450 on here. If you want to go fixed you need to add a good pair of wheels, a decent crankest and probably puncture proof tyres. All that and I reckon you're looking around the £650 mark. Having said that I understand that some people disagree with my valuation. For that reason I have added ONO next to the price as I am open to sensible offers.

Choice of wheels and components: After lurking around on lfgss and looking around sheldonbrown and fixedgeargallery I decided to take the plunge and build one myself. I bought the frame and forks from ebay (came with the BB, headset and the stem). I knew I wanted to get some strong hand made wheels as I wanted to avoid breaking spokes in the pot holes of our beautiful capital. While I was in Paris I visited a cycle shop (rue Louis Blanc behind Stalingrad) where I saw some beautiful old school frames and wheels (if you ever get the chance I highly recommend a visit). As it happened the owner had just finished making a set of blue wheels (matching colour to my frame). To be honest I hesitated a lot before purchasing them as I didnt know if the blue rims would suit the frame. The guy promised me that although they are not deep section rims they would be able to take the hammering of the London roads (which is true as they are still as true as the day I bought them). In any case since these wheels had a Miche hub I thought I follow suit and buy the Crankset, chain ring and sprocket all from the Miche Pista range as I knew they were very good quality.

Splitting the frame into bits: As I mentioned before I prefer not to do this for a couple of reasons. First, although I realise the pictures don't do it justice the matching colour of the wheels only adds the the look of the bike (I get a lot of compliments on it). Second, as I am moving away soon I really don't have the time to split and sell it piece by piece.

As you can imagine after putting a lot of time and effort into building it and riding it for my daily commute I am really gutted to be selling it. Especially given the fact that it rides like a dream (I was doing almost 50kmph on the embankment road earlier today). The only reason I am selling is that I know I wont be able to commute by bicycle in my new home. I know it sounds like a cliché but it would make me happy knowing it is going to a good home, hence the reason for posting it in lfgss.

As I said before sensible offers will be considered.

I am really sorry its been a long post.

Thanks again for all your comments.
