He is probably already on aprem standard wage. Why should they automatically double his wage?
You surely want your players to be fighting to stay up next season and saying we are going to give it everything not saying we are not good enough to stay up so I would rather leave, unless you give me a four year contract on xxxxx in which case I will stay.
