quick bump because I might look into trying to find a solution today. Is there any reason why filing down the front axle would be a bad idea? I mean it sounds like a shame because they are nice wheels but I'd like to be able to use them. Also how easy is it to find a new axel in the correct size?
fork spacing: 95 mm (consulting sheldon this is probably 96mm + a fresh powder-coat. incidentally the wheel didn't fit before the new paint)
Axle length: 110mm
I don't have callipers but I just measured the hub width as 77-78mm but I wouldn't put much faith that it's very accurate.
