  • Hm, not sure what brand or model it is, but I think the cable inside the black lock was actually thinner than the cable inside the grey one.

Those really chunky cable locks don't seem to have very much inside them.

Like this thread says repeatedly. Don't use a cable lock to protect anything you mind losing.

  • yer cable locks are not very good ha

  • Went to Oxford yesterday. At least half of the bikes in the city centre are just freelocked. Out in the suburbs I saw a lot of bikes left in front gardens not locked at all. Crazy.

"From April 2010 to March this year, 2,023 bikes were stolen in Oxford, down from 2,137 the previous year, which was a record high."

Vast gangs of crack zombies pick up the freelocked ones and stash them for pickup later by some freaking bike crime lord with a mighty big van, El Bikeo then buys them up for the price of a wrap of scag. bstrds.

I once saw a guy drop his bolt cutters out of his jacket, stop, pick them up and ride off. another bloke the other day had a screw jack hooked over his handlebars and cycling along with two bikes, its just so blatant. I might just have to become a vigilante crime fighter. sigh.

  • Brand new bikes ... unfortunately no paper to leave a friendly message ...

  • Some beauties here, clearly Knightsbridge is the place to be for bike thieves today, these rich nodders have no idea how to lock a bike...

The second one is brand new, doesn't even look like the tyres have touched the road.

  • So what, its just a folding bike.

  • what, never heard of a folding bicycle before?

  • ^^bastard

  • ^^^lol

  • TBF looks like the number 62 has had its way with it anyway.

and the spesh with the B&Q shed chain lock is likely some toe rags freshly theived allez is totally secure

  • Totally secure unless the thief happens to have some very small wire cutters...

  • Poor locking up facilities at my gym. Considering complaining...

  • Poor locking up facilities at my gym. Considering complaining...

That's the virgin active in Acton I think, I did complain and was politely told to fuck off.

  • Yes! Exactly that one. I think I'm going to complain anyway. Most people who use it agree it's crap. Even heard people refuse to lock their bikes there on two occasions.
Would it kill them to just fit in Shefield stands?

  • dunno how they managed it, but that actually looks worse than the bicycle tree things, at least with those if you have a large D or a chain you can get at least the frame locked.

  • I see a lot of this kind of stuff around London. Think this was somewhere off TCR or Oxford Street. Only the forks left to take...

Probably doesn't belong here as such...but just interesting so I thought I'd share...

  • looks like a c.king headset too ;)

I'm still confused why people leave their part attacked bikes behind? Its like so what you've lost a wheel, now man up and carry it home, no wait a minute, instead of only loosing a £50 wheel I'm going to abandon the entire bike that way I don't have to do the walk of shame.

  • white frame is on Percy street,I've been watching that thing slowly disappear over the last few months. Its only a create so just buy another one.

  • ^^
Its because the general nodder community see their wheel get nicked then run off to their insurance company and say the whole thing has been nicked abandon it and cycle away on their new shiny insurance bike...

  • That Create on Percy St. must've been there a good six months before it started being dismantled. The cable had been cut when I first noticed it, but other than that it looked completely intact.

  • Piss on it.
