well for a start he should have bought a really nice frame and cut it in half, getting something custom made is just crazy
Why is this crazy?
This will be my 4th frame since I began playing and I think I can justify something catered to my needs. And for the price it would've cost me for a decent trick frame.
(esb, gangsta, etc)The frame isn't really a 14 V3 as I specifically took the geo of the V2 and made some changes. I wanted something more burly and more like how the esb feels.
Sloping TT + straight fork at 71 degrees. 73mm BB and 135mm rear spacing.
It's for 26" wheels and has options for rear V or Disc. (Disc in autumn/winter)
Wheelbase is super short and I'll be riding right over the back wheel. My FBM Sword is awesome and it was hard to make such a change.
But rear clearance wasn't good.
When you're playing hard and dependent on your bike you can't have a buckled wheel shutting you down. That happened on several occasions. This frame is what I need right now. Building it up this week.
My other option was getting a tiny steel mtb and shortening the front end. Would be rad if you can do it...

Er, Todd. I'm pretty sure Phil is taking the piss as there are a few of the Newcastle riders who butcher frames into polo bikes rather than splash out big bucks and F34R has just bought a lo-pro to "alter" into a polo bike.
Just saying, coolstorybro.jpg etc.

Oh dear - wouldn't be the first time Phil's ridiculously dry sense of humour has confused people on here.
Entered and paid for Casuals in Edinburgh by the way.
Still holding out hope that we can take another team.

Yeah, what nefarious and hamatt said, sorry for the confusion.

Ah, get ya...
I wanna see some of these alterations...
Cut and shut. -

straight fork with no rake? presumably a super short fork then....
im building mine around a 74 degree headtube, with shortest possible fork that'll fit a 1.75, with 58-60 trail (30ish offset i think).
s bend seat tube to bring the rear wheel right in, short wheelbase. should be finished within about 10 days :)Ah glad I didn't wade in as well then. #sarcasm read fail.
Where did you get that pic from in #1627 that's awesome! Didn't know you could get bigger than 48h
And +1 to pictures!
think i found it while trawling through league of bike polo forums.....

And aswell as UKchamps promo I was also wanting to say, there is talk from all of us in Edinburgh about coming down to Newcastle for a few games with you all. We've been doing a few polo-commutes to play with glasgow in the past few months and are planning to start coming south aswell.
Going to find some cheap trains and make it next week or so?
You all fancy it?
