Possible bike thief?

Hi all,

I recently moved, and one of my new neighbors seemingly has a different bike parked up outside every time I come home. I've seen at three bikes so far, mostly not fitting his size / age / gender profile. I only clocked this today for some odd reason (I generally don't suspect my neighbors of illegality). I took a picture of the latest bike and will take pictures of any subsequent bikes which I see. Apart from this, is there anything else people suggest I do?

Take serial numbers covertly and search google to see if they show up as "stolen bike, serial number xyz" anywhere?

Thanks Kips, I might give it a go. I also found a site called bikeshed which I'll keep an eye on for the bikes I'm photographing. The guy in question always comes in and out of the estate with a hood up (and massive dog in tow) so I've been hesitant to strike up conversation thus far. I'd still like to think there's a reasonable explanation somehow so I might give it a shot.

For some reason my weirdo neighbour is in my front garden taking photos of my bike. Might set my massive dog on him next time I see him do it.

Just start talking to him about bikes, see whether he knows anything at all about the stable he seems to have. You'll soon suss him. I'm sure he won't eat you just for saying hello.
