I bought a pair of wheels from Skylark months and months ago now.
I only used them a couple of times- I bought them to use on the turbo really, but then couldn't be bothered to change wheels when it was turbo time, and then it the weather got nicer.
So, run twice on a turbo and then stored.
I decided to list them here and Harry Major called dibs, he came over earlier.
Now he did what I should have done- checked them over properly.
The front rim is worn from braking, not a show stopper but enough for him to comment.
However the rear hub bearings were extremely rough- enough for Harry to politely walk away.
The wheels were sold to me as being in good used condition, so I contacted Skylark who basically said "not my problem, too long ago, you probably did it".
Caveat Emptor.
@Dammit you are making yourself out to be a bad trader yourself!
So why did you not mention in your for sale advert that they where not in useable condition? In fact there is no mention that they are anything but perfect. Surely someone with your experience of high end bikes and bits would have noticed a worn rim on first inspection and a knackered hub pretty quickly.
Also if skylark sold them to you for £130 why where you selling them for £150 4months after you bought them? I presume you where just hoping that someone would be as dumb as you and not check them either?
Fact of the matter is that If you buy something 2nd hand they are sold as seen and it is your responsibility to make sure you are happy before you buy. It seems like pretty obvious stuff was up with the wheels. Skylark mentioned in his ad that they where in used condition so why didn't you, from your ad it sounded like they where mint.
Aside from all that why not have a private conversation and raise your grievances and not stick them on the bad trader list....
