  • At the moment I have some free Frogglegs from a bloke who I think work for on-one.

    They felt pretty spongy and crap, even thought I've put new cable, but then I was used to the Avid one which felt beautifully powerful.

    I'm unsure whether the Tektro will be a lots better than the Frogglegs, of which were cheap.

    I never liked my Frogglegs. I thought the build quality was so-so, pad quality was severely poor and the design quite dated. Tried some Tektro in the frogglegs style (standard on a Giant CX bike), and they were much better imo. The arms were cast instead of being two plates pressed on to brass, the bridge was much stronger, pad mounting easily adjusted. Also, everything was allenkey where the Frogglegs are still using hex nuts. With the Tektro the springs can be screw adjusted (as you do on a V-brake)
