Newbie + Mercian

The frame is staying as is for now, but I do want to run a fixed/ss hub.

I know some of you wont like that, but that's how I want to ride the bike.

you tell them, as long as you dont do any hacking or painting you can always build it up geared later anyways.

Good decission, enjoy as a fixed/ss, I have got a 1969 King of Mercia which I use as a fixed/ss and it is my everyday favourite bike

the best way to get parts is to wait and not rush. just get a few saved searchs on ebay going check the classifieds section on here and you will get the parts at the price you want. Also come up with a plan of exactly what you want it to look like now so you can get it right rather than snatching bargains which will look shit in the long run (a very easy thing to do).

My first fixed conversion cut all the braze ons off, and the mech hanger felt like a twat wish i had just used the bike as a tourer and got a track frame( which i now have done).

lovely bike robbiebee, i have a pro lugless that was changed to a 9 speed origially 653 but came back from Derby with a 531 removated sticker on it (they didn't have 653 tubing in at the time. ) jus waitng to get some dosh together to build it bach up.

Thanks, I have also got a pro lugless in 731 OS had it made for me in 1995, I didn't build it up until 2000, (restoring a MG Midget; moving house and changing jobs took over), with Campag Chorus 10 speed.
