  • i have a quando rear hub, its fine imo. not had a history of amazing quality hubs to compare it to though...

  • thanks ashley - how long you been using yours for?

  • gf has quando on one bike, would describe them as cheap and cheerful

  • thanks rhb! Yeh cheap n cheerful is defo the notion im getting with quandos..

  • err, been on it for about 4 months. probably ridden 300 miles. better than the create hub i have had before...

That's not really an official measure. Create hubs are made of cheese and not a particularly hard one at that.

  • Spend the money on Novatec's instead. I've stripped the threading on a Quando hub very easily before, never managed to with Novatec/System X hubs. The Novatec is also sealed so the bearings will last much much longer. If the hub threading gets stripped or whatever then it's a pain in the arse to replace as you have to rebuild the wheel.

  • Or spend a little more and go for Goldtec. Just don't let ChainBreaker anywhere near them. He has previous.

  • miche hub i got on a wheel from varno, so smooth, spins for ages at a slight push

  • but it's Miche, so it's made of cheese.

  • hard cheese?

  • room temperature gorgonzola.

  • A wheel of brie?

This does not test a hub in any way. 300 miles!

I've owned Quando mtb hubs (9sp). They were free and tbh I wouldn't pay money for them. The seals weren't good and It felt like it lacked engagement point (too few pawls?).

    it goes round pretty well

  • Not much though, or very often by the sounds of it.

    :)

Thanks guys :) this was what I was looking for. I may save up some and go for the GoldTecs instead.
Oh n Bodie and dont worry - i doubt ChainBreaker would want to visit Leicester any-time soon lol
