• Why so cynical ChainBreaker? A handle is a handle, and I think I can handle my handle.

• ^Its true.

• It's nice that you let Morgasm reach around you to type, every so often.

Hello from the Breeze Team...
I am contacting you to let you know of an exciting opportunity that has arisen for you and your members to become involved in the latest cycling initiative from British Cycling!

The Breeze network** **is British Cycling’s new national network of bike rides led by women – for women. We want it to be easy for all women to get involved in bike rides. We have spoken to hundreds of women; we know that many more women of all ages would get on a bike if there was a local group of women to go with and some friendly support along the way. Breeze is friendly, fun, local and social. It’s very informal – it will grow in different areas, in different ways. The Breeze network will be shaped by the women involved – that’s what makes it unique.

We wondered if you could help British Cycling please, to recruit volunteers in Richmond to lead community bike rides this summer for the health and wellbeing of the community? Please could you pass this invitation onto your members, your contacts and any partner organisations who might also be interested?

Do you ride a bike? Do you think healthy exercise is good for the community? Do you enjoy helping others? If this is you then get in touch!
Breeze Champion training will be coming to Richmond on the 18th June 2011 and we want anyone who has enthusiasm for cycling and the health and fitness of their community to come along and get free training leading to a professional qualification.

You will need to commit to helping to run a minimum of 14 Rides this year and the qualification is yours forever. If you want to improve the health and wellbeing of your community and enjoy helping others to make a positive change in their lives please get in touch

Please contact the Breeze team on 0161 274 2117 or e-mail breeze@britishcycling.org.uk **

Are you interested in becoming ride leaders yourselves?

Thank you so much all of you, warmest regards,

Nick

• Here - http://www.lfgss.com/forum56.html

I think one of the regulars has just qualified to the BC Ride Leader training

• Hi, new here as well, was introduced to the forum by Canadian and now it's contributing to the necessary procrastination that must occur during revision! Maybe some beers after exams!

• Someone has to organise a tall bike ride, for the lulz.

• Hi, it's true

• That doesnt make any sense... "hi, it's true"!?! What the fuck?

• Maybe he meant "High, it's true."

• Afternoon, I've been lurking for a few weeks and am now understanding (semi-comfortable) : slack chains, dorra, aerospok, rpm, hipster, etc et al. Been schlepping around London for a couple of years on a SS tiny Zaskar (formerly my jump MTB) - just picked up a Kona Rat track frame (<£100), which despite being a "bandwagon" (no-pun) jumper company, has great geometry. Cannot find many, if any people* riding them (now worried there is a reason?) - doing a slow build up to a semi modern track bike, the gunmetal 953 Bishop Bikes pushed my buttons! Ultimately want to get into track racing - starting at HH.

So a rather rambley "hello"
For comedy / fresh anti-prawn material, this is what I currently ride / use to travel between stand up scraps with a lot of London motorists (had a good one on Essex Road, Angel few weeks back).

Fun forum!
Cheers
Jonny

• Anti-prawn - LOLZ!!!

And that is a nice bike! I like a lot!!!!

Welcome, and good intro ;-) Welcome to the friendliest forum on the internet!

• Ultimately want to get into track racing - starting at HH.

No "ultimately" to it. Pop down to the induction on Saturday morning and take it from there. See the Track sub-forum for more details.

Thanks Cliveo - "ultimately" I need some wheels and bars first ;-), but will def head over the staurday after I get them! After 20 years of cycling (6 in BMX/XC/downhill racing) I'd be interested to see if I have the quads 'n calves for it to be fun!

• dont even need that, you can rent bikes there :-)

• Just read that ! No more excuses I guess !

• Hello, I'm new.
have been lurking around the forums for a while and have finally joined due to the lack of any other fixed gear related forums (seeing as I don't live in london)
I'm living in Devon at the moment but moving to the university of winchester in september :)
