  • Right on cue there Scott, leaving a trail of disspelled forum horseshit in your wake. Nice one.

You're just sucking up for a free Surly though aren't ya?! ;-)

  • Seriously you server-dwelling fuckos, how can you look at this without thinking FUNFUNFUNFUNFUN??? Getting all hot under the collar about a bit of excess brake cable? do me a fucking favour. I bet if I arrived down at LMNH on one you'd all put down your little bottles of beer for a go on it.

  • Also, what looks like excess cable will look a lot different once the front end has a handlebar harness on there with sleeping bags and tents strapped to it...you often need the excess to work around the bags.
Bikes like this are designed right down to the finest detail. Like the dropped topped tubes to account for your feet sinking when you step off the pedals.
And as Josh said...they are ridiculously good fun! :]

If you honestly don't know, why not ask instead of tell? :]

  • looks hella fun

  • Coming from the land of foreign snow, I say from experience that fat, low pressure tires work.
Of course you'll be slower, but you will be vertical; I'm not speaking of snow that goes away in a few hours, this is stuff that stays for 6 months and turns to rutted ice.

  • We get a lot of that in London.

  • Just so there isn't any confusion:

I never said it was a bad bike.
I never got hot under the coller.
    I never got personal either.

I did say I thought it wasn't likely to be designed primarily for mud. And that I think the tyres are a nightmare in snow, which is based on experience. Happy to be corrected.

If any of it came across as 'telling' then perhaps that's due to the tone of the last page. It is bullshit banter, in amongst bullshit banter.

  • Of course, a lot of the local couriers ride narrow tires through the winter.
    But they're younger/faster/better riders than I.

  • :-D

    I love you guys.

  • I think I want one of these ones now. Although I'm
pretty sure I saw on their blog that On-One are working on a fat bike prototype as well.

  • That's a big ask - it's bright and quite distracting.

  • especially when the rest of the bike is in the way too

  • Is that the Hugo Boss Ralph Lauren bike?

    fashion bike alert

  • I love it, including the orange wheel!

pretty much said what i was gna

yeah it is, its also a repost, but at least its better than the other one they did

I feel kinda sorry for Fatbike....they came up with some great ideas, like the 17Omm rear hub, only to have their ideas copied by Salsa for the Mukluk.
The TI fatbacks are the best snowbike out their in my opinion.
They also do some carbon fatbike forks and their own chainsets...really good quality stuff.
They've built snowbikes down to the 23lb range...which is good going with tyres and tubes and rims that big.

  • I'd love one of their Ti ones but really would have to move to Alaska to justify it I think.

  • There are worse places to move to...beautiful scenery.

  • True. Although there's that shot of the guy trekking across the Simpson Desert in Aus on their home page. A more likely direction for any future emigration plans of mine I suspect.

  • yeah it is, its also a repost, but at least its better than the other one they did

    so fugly.

  • Apart from the saddle.

  • No way. I know you ride often in the snow but that's mad.

CX tyres cut through the snow to hard ground.

Fat tyres like that would drag like crazy. Like riding though treacle (but colder and stuff).

You cant cut through deep snow, you need to be, for the most part, on top of it.

Just to fuel the anti-porn/ porn merge debate. My commuter cutting through a single nights worth of snow, with it CX tyres :(.

  • Apart from the saddle

    ???

  • Pipe bender?
