Went to Oxford yesterday. At least half of the bikes in the city centre are just freelocked. Out in the suburbs I saw a lot of bikes left in front gardens not locked at all. Crazy.
"From April 2010 to March this year, 2,023 bikes were stolen in Oxford, down from 2,137 the previous year, which was a record high."
Vast gangs of crack zombies pick up the freelocked ones and stash them for pickup later by some freaking bike crime lord with a mighty big van, El Bikeo then buys them up for the price of a wrap of scag. bstrds.
I once saw a guy drop his bolt cutters out of his jacket, stop, pick them up and ride off. another bloke the other day had a screw jack hooked over his handlebars and cycling along with two bikes, its just so blatant. I might just have to become a vigilante crime fighter. sigh.
