yes they are a bit fiddly! When attaching the cage to the rest of the mech it needs to go on upside down to begin with, turn the bolt 1 rotation to get it up to the spring, then turn the cage anti-clock to the correct position then continue tightening the bolt, might be best having a go in a vice, but anyway, it won't have done the mech any harm.
just interested as frustrated with time of my own build so a ready built of similar quality is looking VERY appealing right now, though there is no £££ in the coffers to fund such a move right at the moment.
