What does this mean?!
It means it is only any use to someone with a hub that has a left-hand thread and is running the freewheel on the left side of the bike. In other words it's unusual and probably no use to you. Spend another £4 and you can get a 'normal' one from Condor.

Hello sulaco.
left hand thread means it screws on when turned anti clockwise. it will not go on normal hubs because they screw on clockwise / right hand thread. the only reason For BMX hubs doing this would be so the chain wheel (crank cog) would be on the left side of the bike. a fashion statement surely. -

Left hand threads can only be connected with skyhooks. Most shops have them but I think in the u.k they call them long weights. If you ask for that you should be fine.

I was browsing on sheldonbrown for types of threads on freewheels.
I am planning on buying the ACS Southpaw BMX freewheel off ebay but it says left hand drive only. What does this mean?! Is it a BMX thing - or good for SSbikes too?
