Jenne - you missed some wonderful weather!! The recce was a lovely day out, thanks to Habbi & ms.chris for some great company. We took the slightly less short/steep route up to Richmond Park, it turned out to be the most notable of the climbs so once you're up that one, then the rest is like a breeze. Thanks to ms.chris ^^ for the notes on the roads, etc.
**I've updated the OP - with some slight changes to the route, and I've uploaded some detailed Route Cards, with marked up Regroup Points so we keep together for any major road crossings. We have now got only about 50m on a busy road which is just great. Please do re-read it!!!
Watering points - a petrol station just after Hampton Court, another in Shepperton, a pub in Chertsey and then at the entry to Windsor Gt Park, I'm sure that's more than needed!
The pub in Chersey (the Coach & Horses) which looks like a good regroup spot, has a convenience store just before it so people can get picnic foods there rather than carry them all the way from London.
We didn't recce any route home, if anyone want's to put together a route that would be great - I think that someone mentioned one previously. I'm probably going to get the train home after some beers in Windsor at the Riverhouse.**
Oh - and we saw the Queen yesterday - on her way to the Derby!!
