I (like most people) have a bit of drop on the top of road bars, just before the hoods. The modern trend is away form this. If you look at road bikes form the 90s there is often 30mm+ of drop to the hoods.
When I'm using bullhorns, I set them up just like my hoods. They drop 20mm ish.
I wonder if people moaning about this (thinking it's just a fashion thing) have ever got out of London and ridden up some hills?
