Freecycle: 58cm Peugeot frameset Reynolds 501

  • This has now gone.

Going to freecycle this as I'd like to get it out of the flat.

It's 501 with chromed 501 forks, surprisingly light and nice to ride. Not bent or dented at all but it is quite tatty and has some surface rust in places. Both the stem and seatpost are stuck - how stuck I don't know. The seatpost was fine about six months ago but when I was dismantling it the other day I couldn't move it - I didn't give it a really good go though and I reckon it could be loosened with a bit of concerted effort. Headset is a bit rough but not completely shot yet.

58 c-t-c for both seat tube and top tube. Maes bars and San Marco saddle (it's a rebranded Concor) included, but I will remove the BB (as it's nearly new).

English threaded BB with healthy threads. Rear OLD is 124mm or 126mm I think. You can get a 120 track hub in there no problem.

Free to a good home. I'm in Hackney.

  • :)

  • This has now gone to Turbohard, sorry y'all.

  • Got a good deal. I ride one of these, love it!

And have a spare post should that one need cutting out.

  • Thanks again Regal! Nice to meet you and thanks Elvis for seatpost offer!!!

  • Darn - I gotta be quicker off the mark!

  • Just upgraded this frame so have a 60cm version which is very similar floating around.....PM me with offers if anyone is interested (I am not as generous/cannot afford to give it away for free)....it also has stuck seatpost though pretty sure it could be removed with a vice...I am 5'10" with longish legs so reckon it would still work well for anyone between 5'10" and 6'. Agree that it does ride really nicely!
