Where are you? I know of a framebuilder in Birmingham that can do that very job, and has done on one of my frames, to a very high standard.

you could just use p-clips or one of the many mudguards that doesn't require these fixings

n3il - I live in in Herts and work in London, so Birmingham is a bit too far!
benrb - I've never heard of those. They might just do the very job!
Thanks to you both

there are loads of mudguards that don't need the eyelets.
If you want a decent load carrying rack though, a decent local framebuilder is what you want. -

A good quality p-clip is available from the German rack manufacturers Tubus in different sizes for different tubes. They take up to a 30kg rear rack (!) so should handle the job of attaching mudguards too.
My girlfriend also has the Crud Roadracer, which aren't as sturdy as the SKS chromoplastics I have, are still pretty decent.
P.S. Very organised thinking of winter riding at the moment! I'd leave it till late October at least :p

seconding Jack25's comment, i have a friend with the cruds, which attatch very nisely, designed specifically to look nice on a fancy race bike with no attatchments;

I put mudguards on my Steamroller with P-clips, which are cheap. Wasn't too hard to do. Need to check how much clearance you have. Frames without eyelets may well have less clearance. I can just about squeeze in 25mm of rubber on my frame.
Here is the result on my bike...
I've got a Genesis Flyer and the lack of rear mudguard mounts/eyelets is a pain come winter time. Does anyone know if it's possible to get some welded on and anyone who could do that sort of thing? Cheers.
