Cutting through the rim with a hacksaw is what's difficult, and the reason people think that the rim only method is alright. Bolt cutters will easily go through the rim/tyre though. Lo profile rims and tight clearance with a mini-D is what you want; get both the seat tube and rim in there leaving no space at all.

^ there's a video somewhere of a guy defeating the "Sheldon method" of which you speak in about a minute, with a hacksaw I think.

you don't need to put it through the frame, you can just put it through the wheel as long as it's through the rear triangle
Not recommendable, as it's very vandalism-inducing.

I like the idea. But wearing a heavy lock such as the Kryptonite Fagh on your belt; does this not just pull down your trousers?
-
• #61
well, people like wearing their pants low nowadays anyway, don't they? Seriouly, this is why I went for the NY 3000 not the Fahgettaboudit, plus the Fahgettaboudit is too short for locking in a lot of places I think.

hello mr falcon, do you have any non branded all black ones left?
thankyouplease

Hi, when you are on the bike you really don't notice the weight, it's because you are leaning forward slightly. I find it a better option than loading it into a bag or using a frame bracket...these holsters also make you look well cool....honest!

This guy is the best trader I've come across on the forums (or probably anywhere). First holster went awol in the post (for some reason it got 'returned to sender') and when I let him know (before he had received the return and with no way of knowing that I hadn't just received/pocketed it) he immediately ran off a new one and sent it next day special delivery for no extra charge. Finding it to be a little too tight to fit my lock into (probably because I'm not a huge guy and so the strap holster is round more of a corner than it might otherwise be) I mentioned this to him just for the purposes of feedback (obviously he hadn't done anything wrong) and he immediately insisted on making me another one a bit longer, again not asking for any further money.
Amazing service and a really great quality item.

+1 for this. Really sound, my stuff was returned by royal mail, twice, with them saying my address didn't exist, he emailed me, the holster arrived the next day.
Good product as well.

What size lock is yours made for and how empty can the can be without spillage in the village?

its for a krypto mini d. the can was full and not yet open, as the open can was in my strong hand, as usual.
Alot of us don't trust this method, don't know if its been tested but if the thief cut the spokes, they could easily cut through the rim untensioned.
