Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way you'll know you've pushed your luck is when all the rubber rolls off your rim in a lean on a corner? I'm interested to know how much luck you've left yourself there...

I use 28 and bigger touring tyres on road rims, never had any leaning problems.
Does anyone run 32c tyres on rims with a 13mm internal width?
I know it's pushing the limits but I already use 28mm tyres and they're fine - no wobbles at all. Sheldon says even 28c shouldn't work but he's conservative:
