  • I know, I know, its a bit too close to Australia.

Only in Britain can we turn this into a Sisyphean ordeal, in which ordinary folk deposit thousands of pounds into bank accounts to lie dormant, while in an office somewhere a rooster is deciding who gets what by pulling names at random from a box of birdseed. Well, that is what it feels like.

It's not Sisyphean, it only happens once. Sisyphus rolls a rock back and forth for eternity.

It can’t be that difficult, selling tickets. The people behind the glass at the local multiplex never look like they’re going home to split atoms in their spare time.
Here’s what you do. 1. Count how many seats you have in your arena. 2. Decide on a pricing system based on proximity to the action and public interest in the event. 3. Hand tickets over in return for money. 4. That’s it.

The people at your local multiplex don't have a demand that exceeds the capacity by 10 times over.

Only the mail could write an article that I initially agree with, then make me change my mind

  • Does anyone know a single person that got track cycling? I didn't get any of the one's I'd applied for.

  • Mrs BB is away and we "used" her card so I still have no idea.

    Sigh.

  • I know, I know, its a bit too close to Australia.

Yep, those kiwi buggers can swim.

  • Does anyone know a single person that got track cycling? I didn't get any of the one's I'd applied for.

Yeah, all the fucking corporate sponsor wankers.

  • My bank (First Direct) did say it could take up to three days to clear so might not actually be showing yet but seems unlikely.

  • Apllied for about £500 worth and have been debited £92.75. Whilst I would have like more I'm guessing by the posts of others this is not a bad result.

I just hope it's for the cycling and not my gf's equestrian choice...

    Riding bikes=win...........riding horses=fail

  • Yep, those kiwi buggers can swim.

    Swimming burgers! Lamb presumably?

  • I just could not be fucked with any of this fucking shit. The olympics can get fucked. I was only ever interested in seeing the buildings anyway.

  • so glad i dont live in london and therefore am not paying for this debacle

  • My bank (First Direct) did say it could take up to three days to clear so might not actually be showing yet but seems unlikely.

I'm with FD, mine showed up this morning (but could have been processed 3 days ago I guess).

  • I was only ever interested in seeing the buildings anyway.

Darn tooting - I want to visit the buildings when they are empty and take some photos.

  • didn't get any :(

  • £46.24 from my account...which I guess is two £20.12 tickets to the opening ceremony plus postage!

  • debit of 86 squid
4x20 quid tickets and the 6 quid booking fee
can't even remember what was 20 quid ?

for the first time in my life i was sad NOT to see a huge great debit from my account
ah well at least i get to nibble on the very margins of the olympics
i'll probably be in row z behind the roof supports with limited view of the ant sized dots in the distance

  • Not a penny taken from my account. Cnuts.

Archery tickets from Der Tours it is...

  • Didn't get anything. They should have prioritised Londoners. SHIT OFF.

  • I got £196 debited, either some track cycling or the football final. Either is fine with me!

I applied for 2 tickets for each event, now to decide who to take.....

  • me me me me me sir me me
( jabbing arm into the air )

there will plenty of events in the olympic park before and afterwards
we will all get into the velodrome at some stage if we really want to see some world class events
world champs etc prolly cheaper too

  • £46 from £550s worth. No idea what I've got tickets for.Probably not for the cycling or white water events I was hoping for. Disappointed

  • I lied. I just dug out what I actually put in for. Seems I put in for 2 x £35 tkts to the women's hockey! I'm going to watch hockey! Decent price for 2 games.

  • I applied for £1,500 worth of tickets and so far; nothing.

    Balls.

  • Nothing, nada, zilcho. What about all the fucking Council Tax I'm paying towards this?

And the logo is pish. There, I said it.
