In effect, you'd design everything above the upper seal as though you were making a rigid fork.
Makes sense.
Smallfurry = bedwetter.
I'd still want to hold it in my hand, and bang it about a bit before throwing myself down a steep hill on it*.
(*something I do alot on a rigid crabon fork TBH)

Yawn...usual well thought out LFGSS comment.
Only ended up here, because it was posted in porn first. Deserved to be there too, if strength and reliability are your thing.

That gansters fine. Dont really mind double spokes either (maybe not white though). But a 0 set-back setpost, with the saddle clamped as far forward as possible. Combined with the 80mm stem (awaiting correction), makes it look like it was built for a kangaroo.

This next year no because it's already reserved for Vintáge MTBs (see Edscoble's latest work), but next summer Arrospoks will be IN again.

It doesn't imho. Ok, maybe if you look at them next to each other... but still, my first thought was, hmm, interesting, weird but interesting. i.e. not anti.
And the Brooklyn? I'd just change the chainset which looks shit on this bike, reset the saddle and off would I go!

Quality 3rd post.
Yawn...usual well thought out LFGSS comment.
Firstly, the only reason I have this bike is because of the generosity of friends who have helped me out after I had to sell my own bikes, so frame, forks, headset, BB, chainset and seatpost were all loaned to me until i can afford to pay for them. It was never intended to be a 'stealth' bike, hence the silver chain and chainring bolts, it just so happens that all the parts I got were black.
Secondly, as you failed to expand on your comment further Rob, I would say, It depends on how you class a bike part as 'decent'.
My last brooklyn frameset was used for years, as both a brakeless city hack and a fully loaded tourer, and it worked perfectly for both. It did stacks of century rides and never let me down once. I love the ride and the geometry, more than most other frames i've ridden.
I've owned several thomson posts and have never had a problem with any, even on DH bikes.
The gobi wingflex is a saddle i find very comfortable.
Time atacs i've used for about 16 years with no problems.
I've never had an integralter, but i bought it because it was cheaper than a seperate bar and stem, and i find it one of the most comfortable setups i've ever owned.
I've had 3 pairs of H+son rims and like the ride, and have never had a problem with any of them...can't comment on the front B43 as it's my first.
Never owned a goldtec hub but they're supposedly decent.
Maxxis refuse are my favourite tyre as i trust their grip, and they last well with very few punctures.
The BB is a phil wood, so again, a decent bit of kit.
Ideally I would use a sugino 75 chainset as i have absolute faith in them, but I don't have the money for one just now.
So as far as i'm concerned, this bike is made up of plenty of 'decent' bits of kit...assuming 'decent' still means something which works well for the job in hand and lasts an acceptable amount of time?
Maybe 'decent' to you means something more simplistic, like 'not used by hipsters' ?
