Imperial Petrel Tandem, 3-speed Sturmey Archer hub gearing, 1930s.

Classic 1930s British touring tandem. Deep, pearlescent blue-green colour. Good condition but with some superficial rust and nicks in the paintwork. No dents. Restored by previous owner and has seen limited riding since (too small for me and the wife).

Seat tube (captain): 52cm (c-t)
Seat tube (stoker): 51cm (c-t)
Top tube (captain): 58cm (c-c)
Top tube (stoker): 58cm (c-c)
NB: short/laid back stems mean top tube lengths will be longer than for conventional geometry. See pictures.

The bike is in good condition for its age, beautiful example of a touring tandem. I've included pictures of the worst nicks in the paintwork.

Gears: Sturmey Archer 3-speed internal hub gear

Wheels: Raleigh rims 26 x 1 3/8. Front has a Continental Cityride tyre, rear tyre branded "Leo". I still have the front "Leo", but the wall is fairly perished. Have a spare unused Cityride if you want a matching set, which I'll include.

Vintage pedals, cottered cranks with some rust on cotter pins.

Bantel "Pursuit" mudguards.

2 x Brooks saddles, front heavily cracked but ridable, rear in reasonable condition
