[QUOTE=maryann;1986723]For sale this lovely VITUS 979, seattube 56,5 cm c-t
It's not NOS but near to: the bike has hardly been used, stored for years. I even doubt if the bike has been outside ever.
The bike has a full Campagnolo Victory groupset, rims Mavic.
Yours for 500 euro, posted to UK/EU1
not meaning to pour cold water on this lovely road bike (and the upside is that the groupset is not the cheaper Victory but looks like the later and better machined Croce d'Aune) but the spurious claims that the bike has doubtfully ever been ridden outside begs the question of the noticable heel rub on the cranks? -
• #3
I asked the former owner, my bikeshop, what it could be, a Victory groupset or Croce D'aune (would have been nice) They confirm that the crankset is a Croce d'aune but the other campy parts are Victory. Why they replaced, they don't know any more. Was it that they needed a victory crankset and found one on this stored bike? And yes, there is a small heel rub on the crank, I didn't notice that. You stop my doubts: anyhow the crankset must have been outside.
Thank you for your sharp observations . -

Your bike shop is clearly very much mistaken! This bike has a full Athena group, mechs, brakes, chainset (which is vaguely similar to CDA but not the same).
Very nice it is too.

Oh and the rims are Wolber not Mavic! :)

Sharp observations on the early morning! I didn't study campagnology so I'm happy with these comments. I'll ask it my bikeshop again. But Victory, CDA or Athena, very important of course, Vitus is Vitus and that's a bike with a nice soul, as Tel and Betty noticed.

Lol 'campanology'.
Love these bikes, but unfortunately too small and too pink for me. Have a bump.

very nice indeed.

Yesterday I confronted my bikeshop with the discussion on LFGSS about the Campagnologroup. And they admit shamefully, it must be Athena! All the better! Thank you guys for your sharp observations. And thank you for the nice words about the Vitus. Yes, isn't it a beauty?

I'm just curious what would stop the new owner (who's in the UK) from selling it on the other sites?
Also, all the sold bikes are clearly not her/his - many Dutch sellers buy of others, do the bikes up, polishes them and sell to the UK for profit. Nowt wrong with it.

All of this +1. Gives us UKers access to a wider selection of bikes we'd otherwise not have a chance to buy unless we went to Holland.

As I stated on another old thread you dredged up,
What is your beef dude? Have you paid for a bike that has not been delivered? If so, can you talk to the moderators or post in the bad traders thread. It is out of order to stalk and dredge up someone's old threads with accusations of false provenance. As I understand it, there seem to be a lot of bikes coming on sale from the Netherlands and they have been so far legit. I imagine there are a lot of pre-carbon bikes becoming available there at attractive prices. Most of them seem to be of north european heritage so why the sudden anger?
She is not claiming they are all her own bikes. You are making yourself look a dick.
