OT: need some metalwork done

Posted on
  • Does anybody knows anybody who has ability and access to creating accurately wrought or milled metal elements?
Wrought technique would involve bending an element from 1, 1.25 or 1.5mm thick sheet of steel/stainless steel and probably include laser cutting. Milling technique would include milling that element out of aluminium or something similar (something strong basically) - the element would have undercuts so.. 3 axis would work best probably..
What I'm trying to create is a Nikon 90 degree flash hot shoe adaptor. I can make and post some sketches.
Sorry for my English.. its even worse when I try to describe technical/mechanical terms :/

  • Hi imp, drawings def needed here!
Why not source an old hot shoe and simply make an angled bracket?
Many people use this for small specialist parts with good results: http://www.emachineshop.com/
You can draw online don't need CAD software.

  • this looks great! thanks a lot for that DoktorSpoor, I'll have a look at that closely when I get some spare time and let you know the results!
