In his book he keeps pushing that he's more** performance art** than stand-up, and will continue to push the medium in that direction. It was a good read, the annotations to his last tours were insightful and interesting. Despite finding him less funny than I used to, his justifications for where he is and going are sound enough and I keep meaning to go see him but it's one of those things I never get around to.
