Not really, I'm going to suggest it's a better closing paragraph than an opening one.

I am a cyclist, and as such am very aware that lorries have killed more cyclists in London this year then there have been servicemen killed in Afghanistan. The behavior of lorry drivers is therefore of great concern to me.
