  • Bah. I was attempting to multi-task and those posts weren't there when I posted that

  • Fair enough. I hoping my calming go to sleep music will help.

YouTube - ‪Classic BBC Radio Theme ~ Shipping Forecast (Sailing By)‬‏

radio 4, where would i be with out you

  • Nothing really, just anxious. my brain apparently is getting back up to its old tricks.

So you're just thinking about thinks a lot? can't switch off kind of thing?

  • Watching The shadow line, abit boring so far, definitely making me sleepy

  • Watching The shadow line, abit boring so far, definitely making me sleepy

Gave up on Shadowline, opted for Antiques Roadshow...but really must try and go to bed

  • So you're just thinking about thinks a lot? can't switch off kind of thing?

no not really, I have nothing to be anxious about I just am. Theres no real reason, just the symptoms.

  • That shipping forecast theme is brilliant...forming the soundtrack to my mindless textbook reading.

  • I've quite enjoyed the episodes of of The Shadow Line so far. Doctor Who could be better

  • I know I've hit rock bottom when I hit QVC - "Crafting with Dawn Bibby"....sigh

  • I know I've hit rock bottom when I hit QVC - "Crafting with Dawn Bibby"....sigh

Better than 'Kerry Katona; the Next Chapter'....

  • Just seen a mouse scurry across the floor so I'm not the only one still awake....they are hard little buggers to get rid of though...
As for Kerry - yes I had some of that earlier....Goodness knows why British television is held in such high regard around the world

  • Oz, i got the impression that the next episode will be better. There were a few bits that made me think of links thought out the series, i was reminded of that episode in venice when he was climbing that tower and got hit by lighting. might be nothing but you neer know with dr who.

  • I know I've hit rock bottom when I hit QVC - "Crafting with Dawn Bibby"....sigh

I know i've hit rock bottom when I hear bird song, always a clue you've been up too long.

  • I was discussing the recent series with someone who's watched Dr Who over the years. He keeps complaining about them mildly twisting stories and putting them in the new series.

I hear birdsong at 3.30/4am. Just enough sleep, if I had to get up for work that is.

  • I wont hear a word said against moffat, the mans a dark genius

  • no not really, I have nothing to be anxious about I just am. Theres no real reason, just the symptoms.

I suffer from the same. Have been prescribed low dosage (5mg) of amtripyline. Rarely take it though, as much as it works, it makes it really hard to get up in the morning.

  • urhhhhhhh :(

  • well I have to be up in 3 hours now... joy.

  • well I have to be up in 3 hours now... joy.

well hope you up, because its time

  • I am :(

  • you'll probably sleep pretty well tonight then..

  • i'll probably fall asleep at my desk, I feel that tired :/

  • my insomnia has been absent for a couple of months now. Have a 2 year old kid so that helps, being totally knackered is a good way to sleep.

Besides all the childcare and early mornings (7 days a week, no lie ins - ever) insomnia can come back. Usually a couple of weeks of some bizarre late nights.

I had a new strategy that seemed to work last time. When I'm in bed and can tell I'm not going to sleep - i can tell pretty early on I think, usually I get in denial and think I'll fall asleep soon, try to meditate and all that (never ever works by the way). So anyway when I realise I now try to get up and do something else early on, read a book is a good one, something to switch my mind off of whatever it is which won't let it turn off. Find this works quite well, and will fall asleep when I go back to bed an hour later. Also I don't work myself into a state, get pissed off with sleep and the bed and my wife who is out like a stone.

Obviously it doesn't always work and I end doing several sessions of "something else" and fall asleep at 4 after going to bed at 10.

Anyway thats my current experiences with sleeplessness, thought I'd share.

Hope today hasn't been a total disaster HatBeard. I find that my exhaustion comes the next day. After not sleeping the day immediately after is ok, I'll sleep ok the next night, then the day after that will be hellish.

  • Class "A"s,a good Women,and a good book...in that order..peace...M

  • Be careful the Class A doesn't lead you to the "Big Sleep"
