Hey folks. Never actually played bike polo but have decided it looks pretty fun having seen some vids on youtube and etc. Got a bike i'm building up for it and was just thinking about the issue of protecting my hands and face when I stumbled across this thread - so, well timed.
Anyway, I was thinking of paintball gear. Admittedly if someone is trying to break it to get through to the soft flesh underneath, they will - but for glancing blows and accidental hits it should be more than adequate no? Also has the advantage of being light and designed for a sport where you're running about and visibility is an issue..
Unintended benefit, you can freak the opposition out by telling them you are their father.
