  • Where to start...

My Dad has a freeserve email account. Freeserve were bought by Orange. It is a pop account.

He uses outlook, and files everything in outlook folders.

For some reason, now you have to login to orange/freeserve via the webmail every 230ish days to keep your account active. He hasn't done this. Even worse after 250something days it gets deleted.

According to the customer service person this has happened and his account is no more.

**Question 1: Does this sound true and is there any way to get the account running again / retrieve emails that have come in the interim? **

*Question 2:* the emails up to a certain point have been downloaded to outlook. Is there anyway of saving or transferring them? Further, is there anything that I should be careful of, so as not to loose everything?

Also a while back I set up a gmail account, so he would have an imap email account, to make life easier. He is running Outlook 2003, and the gmail instructions say you have to use a pop account rather than an imap.
    **
Question 3: What are my options in relation to using this new gmail account and transfering everything?**

Cheers.... all and any help appreciated, as I am dreading telling him, because I know he'll go ballistic.
