I am very interested in this bike. A friend just e-mailed me a link to this thread and I've just joined lfgss as a result. However, as my account is new, I cannot yet send private messages. Can you try and send me a private message, preferably with contact details? Thanks.

Couldn't PM you but seemed to be able to send an email so you should be able to reply to that.

Hi Ben2
I'd be interested in this, if it hasn't long gone by now?!
Peugeot Montana - 531 All-Terrain old school mountain bike.
I Brought this on a whim with a view to converting this to single speed myself but not sure if I have the enthusiasm to get round to it. It has horizontal drop-outs so should be fairly easy.
It says the tubing is Reynolds 531 All-Terrain. It has Shimano Deore XT brakes, shifter, gears pedals and hubs. The hubs are 36 hole laced to Rigida CTX 510 26” rims. These seem hardly warn through to the metal yet where the brakes contact so have little wear. A couple of the eyes have a little rust that I plan to treat. I have put on a brand new set of tyres and new rear-tube.
The crankset is a Shimano Biopace. Don't know much about these but they seem in good condition too. Paintwork is pretty good, just a few tiny specs of rust on the chain stay.
Size wise the down tube is 55cm c-t-c and the top tube 60cm c-t-c. Standover is 84cm (33 inches so I said suits over 6ft).
Will need to be collected from Reading. I can meet at the train station if it helps.
Looking for £75 which I hope is a good price for a whole bike.
Any questions please ask.
