I've been to Spilimbergo, in the heart of the Fuili region.. to visit the Trend mosiac / sheet terrazzo factory and the local art college, where students produced fine portraits using small pieces of stone, granite and marble quarried from the area. absolutely stunning, real artisan work.

also visited the Orsoni glass factory in the heart of Venice where the family stills produces using traditional methods by hand yellow and white gold leaf mosiacs.. http://www.orsoni.com/default.asp?pc=001008000000002
