  • I'm thinking of getting a new frame for commuting, and considering between the Cinelli MASH and the Condor Lavoro 2011. Currently I ride a 49cm 2006 Specialised Langster. Since I've got a good friend going to USA in a few weeks, I can get the MASH for about 580GBP, while the Lavoro is going for 499GBP in the shop. But I've got a few considerations.

    1. I've never ridden a lopro like the MASH before but I love the look. Afraid of some ball-bashing when I put my foot down. I'm really short at 160cm (5'2")

    2. The guy at Condor warned that although the Lavoro can be ridden on the street, it is not recommended as the frame may crack in large portholes. Will this actually happen?? I'm super light as well at 48kg.

    3. Both frames are super stiff which is what I'm looking for. Apparently the curved top tube on the Lavoro helps absorb vertical vibrations but doesn't flex horizontally at all (really??). While on the other hand the MASH is made for the streets.

    4. MASH looks pretty hip but the Lavoro grows on you and the lines look very elegant and unusual which I quite like too.

Anyone who rides either of these bikes who can give some advice please? I'm not allowed to try the Lavoro coz they don't have a 49cm built up, but I might head down to BLB to see if I can try the MASH for fit.

    Thanks!
