Loving Klein & MBO, but it's got to be the original 'USA connection mix' for me. Also 'Wonderful' by them is amazing, & 'Stranger in a strange land' by N.O.I.A, which was connected with Klien & MBO in some way or other.
When I got into house in 88-89 I really thought that it was a 'year zero' for music, but as ever it turns out there was tons of even earlier stuff that laid the template for it. There's some Farley Jackmaster Funk mixes from 1985 which really capture the era when early house (Jamie Principle etc) was being mixed with late Disco & Italo type stuff.
