• Love coffee? Ever wanted to check out some of London's best speciality coffee houses?

The weather is looking pretty decent for this Saturday and so I'm going to ride around London and explore the best speciality coffee (and a couple of cycle cafés) around town.

Meeting at 11am at Federation Coffee, Brixton Market (MAP) and following mostly cycle routes or quieter streets around London.

We'll start by riding past the Velodrome through Dulwich up to Crystal Palace and coming back down through to Forest Hill to Browns of Brockley. Then up to Monmouth's roastery in Bermondsey and over Tower Bridge to Nude Espresso (or their Roastery if open) off Brick Lane, heading east out the Olympic stadium taking Cycle Superhighway CS2 to the Container Cafe & The Counter, then riding along the canal to Lock 7 and Towpath, up to Tina, We Salute You, then a nice climb up Swains Lane and then through Hampstead Heath to Ginger & White, and finally all the way back to Look Mum No Hands for beer, possibly stopping at Prufrock or St. Ali if we feel like it.

    Here's the route:

It's a good opportunity to try out other coffee drinks and brewing methods that you might not normally do.

Depending on the day we may skip ones that are clustered quite close to each other in the east end, or possibly finish up at The Flask in Hampstead for drinks instead. We can play it by ear obviously.

Overall it's going to be a pretty chilled out day and ride, with good company, coffee, cake, pastries, and beer.

    Anyone want to join?

  • Balls. am away on Saturday - here's hoping it's not too long before a repeat :)

  • What sort of time will you be at Nude Espresso? Working at the Barbican in the morning but could finish at any time

  • love the idea of this, was gonna go for a big ride on saturday though....hmmmm

  • Have fun chaps, being an out of towner and going to the Heineken cup final means I'll be unable to join in but if you get the numbers by friday I'll leave you a coffee behind the counter at Maltby St.

  • Shitsticks. Just got back into coffee and I'm away this weekend.

  • Am out of town this w/e, but +1 to the idea, so hopefully it'll happen again sometime.

  • Dangit' to short notice hope the ride goes well.
Would Defo be up for a repeat running.

  • if this goes ahead and gets bigger than about 10 people if someone lets me know ahead ie on friday i can put on some different coffee, maybe some chemex's, v60s, aeropresses maybe cold brew if it's going to be a warm day.

  • Sorry about the short notice. I thought planning too far ahead would just be a gamble with the weather (oh England). This is the Spring ride I suppose, and I'm sure that I'll organise another one in Summer, when the weather is a bit more consistent I can probably give you all a week or two notice.

  • There's about 6 coming so far. The others are people not on the forum.

Not sure, as we'll probably take our time if it's a nice day. PM me your number if you like and we can text when we're en route

    Thanks bombcup that's very kind.
