Finally got hold the mot man, he decided to go out on his bike as it was sunny and he had no appointments.
Find a government MOT centre.

Can anyone recommend a decent/trustworthy/cheap garage around the Hackney area to get an MOT done?

Try the council depot. You are guaranteed not to get stung for fake fails there.
Or there are MoT places along Cambridge Heath Rd. I used to use Lofty's A1 Car Centre in 3 colts lane who were good mechanics, showed you all the points of caution or failure on the lift, and repaired things cheaply. -

yea i cant find a centre open on sunday
Forgot to book, left it too late.
Car should sail through but I need somewhere to do the sailing!
