I know I'm not there to join in the drinking but I would like to add that the lovely Kate herself was overheard saying "I wish they would just fuck off" mind you it was past closing and everyone needs their beauty sleep.

Thats what I heard. He was never particularly nice to me anyway so its not like hes being two faced.

so when I had the chat with Murts and Darren when the Pear Tree was new/shiny for LFGSS wests - it was made clear to all concerned that it was probably the LFGSS Wests 'winter pub' and not best for the summer due to the lack of river / huge garden / whatever other reason sprung to mind.

it's good you are all sticking to the script :)

(It was also a pretty new pub in the area at the time - the evolution into a pretty popular place for the local populace has changed the other things. such is life.)

www.theravenpub.co.uk: pretty relaxed, surprisingly cosy, and I would think more than happy to accommodate smelly cyclists... although stand up on 1st Thursday of every month.

www.carpentersarmsw6.co.uk: not been; small, nice quiet rd, has garden, although maybe a little too gastro and not enough pub.

Well, that's the decision finalised for me. I think we were there all last summer so bang goes the winter / summer pub theory. If we've helped them gain popularity with the locals, then so be it. If the thanks is that we get our spot on the pavement outside, I'd rather sit in my garden*.

Heh, no there was no censorship ... he just protested at the thought of West Beers decamping to our garden (until he's able to get the mexican fayre on the hotplate).

Looking st Streetview it looks like there's an entrance to the beer garden down the side of the Raven.
