  • Talk to Ted. I think he will be the only one to help you.

  • Filing won't either.

Thank god for that, I wouldnt know where to start!

  • This kind of clearance?

Tightest you can go sadly, any tighter, the fork act like a suspension fork, so when you hit a pothole, it'll hit the top and cause you to flip over the bar.

see the mark on that fork in the picture? same shit happen to that person.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ha.

    Scoble you talk some crap.

  • It would attract the rim closer to the crown of the fork. You'd want to remove the magnet when the wheel isn't being turned or the wheel would turn egg shaped

Man you guys sure know your stuff, I ain't ever heard of this happening!
How much are the magnets? It seems cheaper than getting someone to cut down the forks

  • It's not Friday. So this is a wind up now.

  • Popcorn opportunity increasing

  • I'm confused, is it dangerous for making the gap smaller? My clearance is like in the pic edscobel posted

  • Keep checking my "andypancakes bits for sale thread" I might have a fork on there one day.

  • Shameless plug. Sorry.

  • it's dangerous to have the gap smaller, you can't store stuff inbetween the tyre and fork.

  • You know what's your problem Nash Wan? you're talking too much, get out and ride that damn thing you called a bike.

  • Shameless plug. Sorry.

Haha thanks - for sure I'll keep my eyes peeled!

  • it's dangerous to have the gap smaller, you can't store stuff inbetween the tyre and fork.

Not if you look after your bike, or actually look at your bike before you ride it.

You should know about checking over your bike before you go for a ride on it, should'nt you Ed.

I really want to, but it's a bit crap right now. I found it in a skip so it will need respraying! It's the only bike Ive got so I want to make sure it's all working great and built to size. Also there's no bottom bracket but I'll be able to sort that myself :]

  • (serious mode)

Sort it out as cheaply as possible, forget about the gap on the fork, just get it sorted first and then ride it (also make sure it's exactly your size, too many people build up their first bike only to realise they're not the giant they think they are).

Don't spend silly money on something you haven't ridden yet, do that later when you know what you want.

  • is that in the settings somewhere?

  • I'm not sure. I found this.

...clearance may take between 3-5 working days

  • Also if you stand on something before looking at your bike. And squinting.

    ^This, also, inverse shim.

  • ^This, also, inverse shim.

    Can't believe we overlooked this.

Yes, inverse shim on the fork crown and use an inverse rim for the wheel build.
    Sorted.

  • 27" wheels + huge tyres
