Sunday 5th June. From 9am til the last train/last person drops.
Where?
The Cambridge Indoor Court at Harvest Way, Cambridge.
Who can enter?
Anyone! It's an open tournament so we'd hope there will be a number of teams from all around the country of all skill levels. This is primarily a tournament to get teams playing of similiar abilities together, to also warm up for Barcelona, but it is not in any way exclusive to the Barca teams.
How do I enter?
Please log your team and your players in this thread. There is no cap on entries. There is an entry fee of £15 per team which we ask for to help cover our lighting and rent costs. If you are planning on travelling from afar, we'll be able to offer somewhere for a few people to sleep plus there is always the warehouse for free accommodation.
What's the format?
Swiss Rounds, seeded, or Round Robin - all depends on the number of teams. Time is a luxury we have here. We will need your help with this bit LDN. If anyone fancies it, we could do a lunch/tea break and visit a pub and watch the match (England vs. Switzerland).
Is this going to be part of the National Series?
No. This is a straight forward tournament to get people playing together on our great court. We hope to hold a National Series event later on in the year when the weather is not so great and before it all gets knocked down.
We will use the NS ruleset however, to help with our collective training to be better refs. Bill's idea of having a team do the entire ref/goal ref job seems to be well supported so, if people are in agreement, we will try and make this work for this tourney.
We understand this is very short notice, there won't be cool prizes (maybe a Pigeon trophy) or a big projector but it would be great to play more polo in our court. Think of it, if you like, as a training camp for polo, reffing, drinking, and knife fights. Hope to see you there.
