  • naahhhh, theres no going back now john. freewheel is the future.
got a white inbdustries 22T a while back, dreamy.

contacted harvey R.E. mallets, asked for 6, 3 non capped, 3 single capped, with a couple spare heads....

what time we on for tonight then chaps?

I remember you getting it, Dude. It was just a rhetorical question 'cos I couldn't see the benefit of being clipped in if you're rocking a freewheel*, for polo, when you'll wanna be able to hang off the bike for those 'Cosmic-style' shots ;)

  • yeah, know what you mean john. a lot of the good players were playing with SPD's in Brighton though. Mainly the dudes who rode BMX and trials in their youff. It just makes it a lot easier for hopping about - but at the detrement of pulling off those outlandish leg over back hand shots.

6:30pm at Gossy tonight - John come back to the dark side....

  • Yeah John. DO IT! Once a Casual, always a Casual.

The benefits of freewheel and foot retention have definitely become clear.

  • 6.30 at gosforth, ill be there

  • The benefits of freewheel and foot retention have definitely become clear.

Not having played polo freewheel with foot retention, I shall have to accept the wisdom of those wot 'ave ;p

HOWAY, LES CAJ!!! by the way

  • Dislocated my thumb last night when I came off and twisted my wrist. Now im wearing some queer little thing to keep my thumb from snapping and have metal supports on my wrist. All gravy.

  • Bummer, you've managed about the second worst Newcastle polo injury in your third? session. Unlucky. Good to see lots of newish faces last night. People getting the hang of it quickly too.

  • Gonna have a couple of polo bikes for sale in the next week or two, if any of the new players need a dedicated polo bike.

One cheap 'n dirty steel MTB conversion, 26'' wheels with slicks, freewheel, BMX cranks, possibly linked v-brakes. Looks ropey but ideal for beginner. Cheap as chips, 40-50 bucks or thereabouts, depending on spec required.

Second is alloy jump bike, 26'' wheels with slicks, freewheel, linked v-brakes. Looks the business. Intermediate level bike. Prolly about 120 bucks for this one, depending upon spec required.

PM if you're interested or wanna discuss spec, etc
Sorry, no pics yet 'cos they're not finished.

    les caj till i die

  • I'll get pics sorted soon ;)

It was a bit early in the build(s) to introduce a teaser, to be fair

  • What time we on tomorrow? 1 ok?

  • Bring it the fuck on. Shall be making a fashionably late appearance. X

  • Just finished fishing will be there soon

  • yet another tourney that i wanna go to, anyone casual up for it?

  • Viking, could you fix me up with a mallet head for tonight? I'll buy you a beer.

  • No polo for me this week, knacked me arm so no mallet swinging for 7-10th days. Gutted

  • no polo for me........ another wheel broke.

  • what did you do this time shannon?!

  • It's the 4th time in a week the threads have just torn away from the hub. I have 4 cogs and 4 lockrings all of which are cush, just the hubs are mangled. Gonna just give up on fixed if it happens again

  • dont give up on fixed, give up on shit hubs. get a halo hub, or if you want something utterly bombproof, go for goldtec. are you sure you're putting your cogs/lockrings on tight enough?

look up rotafix, its a life saver.

  • I have one left, and I think it's coming loose. I haven't touched them, I don't have the tools either.
