I was at the hospital in basildon on tuesday and in their bike parking area (which admittedly was right outside the canteen and the ante natal ward so high traffic) most bikes were locked up with liquorice whip and where d-locks were employed they were around one part of the bike only.
I felt like the king of bike security locking up there. as if my bike was some kind of shining example of how to do it right.
