• Hey urgently looking for a 27.0 seatpost for the summer ride.
Have everything else apart from this.
Seat tube on frame is a tad on the short side, so NOS seatposts from campag or dura ace aren't gonna be long enough.

So looking for something with a bit of length, but also sexy, so no kalloy's or push seat posts please.

Don't ideally want to spend more than 30 notes for it.

let me know what you've got..

    many thanks

  • I have a Thompson in silver you could have for £35 posted? real nice cond. BTW

  • how long is the thomson harv?
    330mm?

  • corny have a look out on ebay for the dura ace easton.. much longer, i think it's 250mm. usually about £40 so a bit more but it'll be nice for your frame.

  • will do, when I pop in 27.0 all I get is a load of kalloy's and push seatposts.
If I had more time I'd keep searching but, I want to get it out on the roads whilst the weather's good.

  • Dude, chuck a cheap post on it and ride the thing 'til the bling turns up... Wire wool will get rid of the Push/Kalloy logo in the meantime...

  • yeah, get something in the meantime, you'll probably need to look for a few weeks.. and ignore the frequent starting prices for £70+ from Poland and the states.. when they're sold in the normal way it's around £40 for exc cond ones

  • shrug, maybe joe, maybe (sad face)

  • you've had months Cornbread, no sympathy...

  • had other things to sort, and who knew the weather would be so good so soon..

  • true dat

  • shrug, maybe joe, maybe (sad face)

You know I speak with sensible tongue, get thee to BC right now... You'll have forgotten what post you've got in there once you start riding it anyway, and... I really wanna see the smile on your face the first time you pull up to the pub on it... ;]

  • dwayne got my eye on that, will probably pull the trigger, if harv doesn't come through... was abit worried about the length is all, but did some measuring and should be all good.
not sure if it's been cut down or came that short. asked a question about the length from the min insert, but no reply..

  • seems they have a 27.2 in 250mm, and the 27.0 in a 330mm size, which makes me believe these seatposts have been cut down, which is why they be selling them so cheap

  • OK, I understand.

  • min insert on the 250mm thomson is 186, which is just enough. so should be all good.

  • friday night bump, ebay seller, had the wrong description on the thomson it is not 27.0, so back in the hunt.

let me know whats out there yo!

  • Alright Corny. I have one, it is pretty scratched up but I'm I'm 90% sure it says 27.0, this is (semi) confirmed by my fading memory and (admittedly poor) caliper skills.

I think it was on a Marin originally and is nothing special (unbranded, a bit heavy), it's also inline, but it is 310mm (230 above the min) so should be long enough.

Unfortunately my fading memory also tells me that the reason I took it off originally is that they were recalled for some reason… Possibly because the head had a tendency to unbond itself from the shaft? It is still fine at the mo though.

Anyway, its yours for free/a beer if you want it until you can find something better.

  • samuelson, thanks for the offer, but I'm after sexy, and I'm unwilling to settle for anything less!

nice to meet you again tonight, hope to see you again soon..

  • No worries. Good to see you too, and good luck finding a decent one!
