Results and league tables are up now - http://www.hernehillvelodrome.com/sessions-and-events/trackleague
Also, may I propose a "riders report" system. Last year mainly me, but occasional a few other, wrote a general, 3rd person, impartial report of the night racing. Firstly, it was fun to do a few times, but when done regularly it became a bit of a bore, and any journalistic inspiration had gone. Secondly, it was tough to keep an impartial view, and more of the pieces I wrote focussed mainly on the A cat racing, and I mainly made up the B and youth reports from reading through the results.
So, I was thinking if a pool of people would be happy to write a handful of reports thoughout the year, focusing on their experiences of the night, how the races they rode in panned out (and trying to keep an eye on the other catagories, or at least using the results to piece together a mention of the other races), then it would be an interesting riders perspective on racing.
The report, along with photos and results would be posted to LondonCycleSport, British Cycling and HerneHillVelodrome.com.
So, PM me if you fancy doing a writeup or two throughout the year, on in true LFGSS tradition, start a list:

Anyone remember the programme for tonight?
-
• #56
Yeah, it's 'The Apprentice' on iPlayer, as I was out last night.
-
• #57
You watch that?

BMMF in non-cycling related shocker.
No idea whats on the prgramme tonight... but i'm gonna come along and try not to fall asleeep mid-race anyway.

Any sprinting in the programme tonight?
Probably unlikely in The Apprentice! -

I gave up on it for a few years, but then watched the junior version, and last year's. It was quite entertaining.
And anyway, it's not non-cycling. Sugar rides his Pinarello round the Essex lanes, init.

I saw the flyer in the office, think it was scratch, handicap sprint, devil/points/winout/scratch similar to last weeks by the looks of it.
Hope the rain holds off for you

White shoes and black socks? You, sir, are fired.

I tried watching it once, but I ended up really angry. Talentless thick cunts trying to out cunt each other. Useless waste of space. Sub human scum, etc etc.

out-cunting each other.... ha!

Talentless thick cunts trying to out cunt each other. .
That's what makes it entertaining, especially as most of them are convinced they are naturally gifted entrepeneurs, rather than talentless thick cunts.

That's a bit harsh, it's only a track league.
Oh...

Probably unlikely in The Apprentice!Handicap sprints every week, and sprint finishes at the end of most races. This week, winouts could favour a sprinter.
Also coming soon - Herne Hill Track League Sprinters Ladder.

what do sprinters need ladders for?... their deck chairs aren't that high up.

Ok, I've been away from racing for a few years and have yet to start this season so am a bit out of the loop - could someone please tell me what a winout is? If it favours sprinters I approve, obviously, but I'd still quite like to know the ins and outs.

Sprints every 2nd lap, the person to win the 1st sprint wins and has to leave the race, 2nd sprint is 2nd etc for as many placing as your having so if 6 places its 12 laps and everyone left after this is a looser!

A thought that might be the case.
Me like. Gutted I can't make it down tonight now.
Mike, that's what I've had for about thirteen years, although I only got a proper diagnosis in 2006. I remember feeling exactly like you describe and being at a complete loss as to what the problem was.
I'm not sure what it was caused by in my case, although a muscle imbalance wouldn't surprise me. I have it on the right side--is yours left or right? As I had no idea what was going on, I compensated for it for years, which in time led to considerable knee problems on the same side, so make sure you don't ride too hard on that knee.
As I've mentioned loads of times before, yoga for cyclists really helped me--reducing imbalances is of course one of the main themes of yoga.
Good luck with getting through it.
