@rhb this was my first pair of Contis so I am not really the one to judge, they are most probably the cheapest of cheap of what the brand has to offer. May have been a manufactures flaw but they only lasted practically 3 days and this was only a 2-4 mile commute over those days. And I pumped the suckers up to 120 each day (well when they needed to be pumped).
You've every right to judge, as have we all.
@rhb - wow, do you have shares in Continental GMBH?
Nope, I'm part of the Bohle family. Surprised you missed that:
I also use various Schwalbe on other bikes (and now on the rear in place of Ultra Sport) and have no grumbles about them.
Thanks for your anecdotes. Here's mine; I own a track pump, don't skid and, back in the murky depths of time, rode for a team that was sponsored by Continental so got my tyres for free, but gave up on them because a) their grip in damp conditions wasn't up to the competition and b) they were plagued with sidewall cuts, a problem that continues to this day.
Great anecdote~!

Stupid question. But will I not be able to fit 700 x 23 Durano S on my 2011 Flyer http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/road/flyer/flyer/specs with the stock Alex DA28 rims?

Why don't you start a new thread to ask that question :-)
Yes, a 23c tyre will fit that rim as it appears to be 13.9 wide.

Here's another anecdote.
Funnily enough I have the exact same experience as above with Vittoria's. Of the Conti tyres I've tried, Ultra Sport are indeed shite, while GP4000S are some of the best tyres I've used.
